President's Day

President's Day

February 15th honors the 44 Presidents and all they have accomplished. President’s Day was established in 1885 on February 22nd to celebrate George Washington’s birthday. However, in 1971 as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, Presidents’ Day was moved to the third Monday in February and is now viewed as a celebration of all U.S. presidents past and present. The purpose of this change was to to create more 3-day weekends for the U.S. workforce. So enjoy the weekend and make sure to come by Jody’s!

Fun Fact: While there have been 44 presidencies, there have only been 44 presidents because Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms as the 22nd and 24th president.
